Requested by lover of narnia from NW.

First, start with your base. I used a cap from Home of the Nutty and resized it.



Then I pressed CTRL+L and auto-leveled the base.  Then I blurred her skin (with a strength of 50 to keep Lucy looking natural) and sharpened her eyes and lips (with a strength of 25).



I duplicated the base twice, setting both duplicates to screen.



Then I duplicated the base again, bringing the newly duplicated layer to the top and setting it to soft light. Then I went to filters>other>high pass. The high pass filter set on soft light gives Lucy more definition without washing out her skin tones too much.



Next add a color balance layer and input these settings: Midtones--Cyan/Red: -45, Magenta/Green: -5, Yellow/Blue: 24. This tones down the red and gives a cooler feeling to the image.



Now we need a hue-saturation layer. Input these settings: Master--27, Red--13. This gives Lucy a bit of color to her lips and some blush on her face. Also it brings out the bit of pink in her dress.



Next add a selective coloring layer and input these settings: Red--Cyans: -88 , Magenta: 0, Yellow: 54, Black: 0. Yellow--Cyans: -81, Magenta: 0, Yellow: 49, Black: 0. Neutral--Cyans: 20, Magenta: -14, Yellow: -31, Black: 0. This layer adds some coolness, while maintaining what we accomplished with the color balance layer.



The last step is to add another selective coloring layer. Input these settings: Neutral--Cyans: 0, Magenta: -8, Yellow: 12, Black: 0. This gives a little bit more definition to Lucy.
