Tutorial #76

Made in Photoshop CS5, translatable

Going from this: to this:

Requested by. . . . (I really liked the way this icon turned out so I thought I'd do a tutorial!)

Start out with your base. Crop, resize, etc.

Mine was smaller than 100x100 so I added a layer behind the base to match the original background. I also smudged the base so that the base's background blended into the color layer. Flatten.

Add a levels layer, and click auto.

Add a curves layer, and input these settings: RGB: output: 137, input: 109; red: output: 145, input: 110; green: output: 138, input: 118; blue: output: 138, input: 105.

Add this texture by
[livejournal.com profile] innocent_lexys (from her set "Heart Beats"), and set it to soft light 100% opacity.

Add a photo filter with ac7a33 as the color at 25%.

Add a gradient layer, and select the 2nd gradient in
Girl Mood. Set this layer to Multiply 10% opacity.

Add a brightness-contrast layer, and input these settings: brightness: -20, contrast: 20.

Add this texture by ?, and set it to screen 30% opacity.

Duplicate your base, and bring it to the top. Set it to color 100% opacity.

Add a vibrance layer, and input these settings: vibrance: 100, saturation: 100.

Add a gradient layer, and select the 27th gradient in
Explosion. Set this layer to Multiply 12% opacity. Voila! There you have it! :D
