Start out with your base. Resize, crop, etc.

Duplicate your base, and set it to screen 26% opacity.

Add a selective coloring layer, and input these settings: reds: c: -100, m: 0, y: +100, b: 0; yellows: c: -39, m: 20, y: -100, b: 0; greens: c: +100, m: 0, y: -100, b: 0; cyans: c: +100, m: 0, y: -100, b: 0; blues: c: +100, m: 0, y: -100, b: 0; neutrals: c: 5, m: 4; y: -15, b: 0; blacks: c: 0, m: 0, y: -2, b: 0.

Add a new layer of 3b230f, and set it to subtract 20% opacity.

Duplicate your base, bring it to the top, and add a high pass filter with a radius of 10 (Go here for info on how to get the high pass filter for GIMP). Set it to soft light 44% opacity.

Add a new layer of 280816, and set it to exclusion 100% opacity (In GIMP, it would be 2 layers of screen and 1 layer of subract all at 100% opacity for a total of 3 layers).

Add a layer of f6a2a2, and set it to soft light 30% opacity.

Add a gradient layer, and use Smooth Dawn 3 from the Smooth set here (I'm not sure if this step is translatable to GIMP). Set this layer to soft light 30% opacity.

Duplicate your base (the original one), bring it to the top, and set it to soft light 100% opacity.

Add a vibrance layer, and input these settings: saturation: 100, vibrance: 50.

Add a levels layer, and click auto.

Duplicate your base (yes, the original one), bring it to the top, and set it to multiply 40% opacity.

Duplicate your base (I promise this is the last time!), bring it to the top, and set it to color 30% opacity. Voila!

psd.
