Open up your base. Resize, crop, etc.

Part of Margaret's dress was a weird light gray, different from the rest of her dress. So I took the dropper tool and selected the other part of her dress. Then on a new layer, I painted over the light gray.

Add a levels layer, and click auto levels.

Then copy merge your layers and paste the new layer (shift+ctrl+alt+e). Set this layer to screen 100% opacity.

Add a channel mixer layer, and input these settings: red output channel: red: 66, green: 19, blue: -31, constant: -27; green output channel: red: 11, green: 100, blue: -19, constant: 11; blue output channel: red: 11, green: -6, blue: 74, constant: 19. Set it to overlay 26% opacity.

Add another channel mixer layer, and input these setting: red output channel: red: 100, green: 4, blue: -6, constant: 9; green output channel: red: 4, green: 102, blue: -1, constant: 0; blue output channel: red: 0, green: 0, blue: 100, constant: 0. Set it to normal 51% opacity.

Add a new layer, and set it to soft light 29% opacity. Paint over her lips with fa0198.

Add a black and white layer, and click on auto. Set it to soft light 100% opacity.

Add this texture and set it to lighten 100% opacity. (You'll want to save it as a png first.) Or you can create a new layer, paint a white blob towards the bottom of the icon, and gaussian blur it at a radius of 12 then set the layer to lighten 100% opacity.

Add a photo filter using the color ec8a00 at 25% density. Make sure preserve luminosity is checked. Voila! There you have it!

psd.
